Les Deux Petits Pois Chambres d’Hotes is situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees in the gentle village of Fougax-et-Baraneuf. Our B&B is a charming 18th century 'Maison du Maître' ideally suited to couples, friends, groups, or lone travellers. We provide a great base that will enable you to explore and enjoy the wealth of activities this beautiful part of France has to offer. This area is a great place to retreat away from the usual stresses of life and this little haven in the Ariège really does mean that if you’re looking for a holiday or a short break with access to the Midi-Pyrénées then look no further.
This area is well known for its great cycling and walking routes as well as many other outdoor pursuits. We are more than happy to help you plan these and have plenty of guides for you to use. See our activities page for more information. The house is also ideally situated for visiting the Cathar castles that this region is famous for. The most renown of them all - Montsegur - is a mere 10 minutes drive away and Roquefixade, only around 30 minutes.
We are situated in the heart of the village and the terrace at the front of the house hosts a back drop of the mountains, making it an ideal place to sit and watch the world go by. Our main garden is a short 3 minute walk from the house on the river l'Hers - we are currently improving this charming space, however although work in progress it remains a delightful place to sit and simply be and we are happy for you to share this during your stay. Also a tranquil spot for outdoor yoga.
Breakfast is typically French with some continental extras, and includes freshly baked bread & croissants with homemade conserves. (Please let us know of any special dietary needs so these can be sourced prior to your arrival)
Table d’Hôte. We also provide fresh, home cooked evening meals 3 times a week, these nights will be confirmed when you book or during your stay – we just need to know a day in advance if you would like to dine. We are both passionate about food and enjoy the benefits of creating balanced, varied, meals, in keeping with the seasons. We choose to cook without meat or fish but with our style of cooking we suspect you may not miss it. A typical evening meal consists of 3-4 courses.
For those of you planning a full day out, we can supply a picnic lunch for you to enjoy at that ‘ideal’ spot… just let us know the day before…
Please see our accommodation page for prices.
